Table 1: Feasts of the Most High God: when and how to keep them.

Many people claim that we don’t have to keep the feast days of the Most High God, but this is a lie from the father of lies—the devil. The feast days are still in effect and are to be kept forever. However, it should be noted that with the abolition of the sacrificial law and all associated rituals, some of the feats are observed slightly different than they were under the old covenant. The key point of difference is Jesus taking the place of animal sacrifice and becoming the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. These feasts have biblical significance and directly link to the SALVATION you and I hope to receive. These are the feasts that gladden the heart of the Most High God; it pleases Him when His children obey His commandments.

Further, pause and think: why do people complain that there are too many commandments to keep but yet add extra man-made holidays like Christmas, Easter, New Year, Ash Wednesday, Mardi Gras, Halloween, etc.? God never commanded us to celebrate these man-made pagan-derived holidays—they are not His commandments but that of men. Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by the devil with all the holidays coming out of Rome—they are not of God!

So many Christians, by not keeping the feasts outlined in Leviticus 23, think that they are being more spiritual or pentecostal—(Pentecostal) the spiritual term coined and used to denote the level of spirituality—supposedly. Can we be more spiritual than Jesus? Can we be more Christian than Jesus? The question that we should ask ourselves is, DID JESUS KEEP THE FEAST DAYS? Are we instructed to follow His examples? Let the Bible give us the answer.

JOHN 7:36-38

“36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? 37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Notice verse 17: In the last day, that great day of the feast;  which feast? Why was it called that great day, the last day of the feast? This was the Feast of Tabernacles (or the Feast of Ingathering). JESUS KEPT THE FEASTS. The feast of Tabernacles is a week-long event: the first day through to the eighth day—the eighth day was the last—the great day. So, we can see that Jesus celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. Should we follow Jesus’ examples? Let the Bible give us the answer.

1 PETER 2:21 “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”

MATTHEW 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

1 CORINTHIANS 11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”

EPHESIANS 5:1-2  “1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

1 PETER 2:20-22 “20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:”

1 JOHN 2:6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

1 JOHN 3:15-16 “15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”

From the above passages, Jesus set an example for us to follow. We should follow the examples of Jesus—we should keep the feast days—they are the feasts of the Most High God and not the feast of the Jews. It was our sins and the law of animal sacrifice that Jesus nailed to the cross and not the commandments of God.

During the Millennial reign of Christ, people will be required to keep the feast  Tabernacles; how do we know this? Let us see:

ZECHARIAH 14:15-21

15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague. 16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.

From the above, we can see that the feasts are not done away with. Anyone teaching people not to keep the feasts of the Most High God is teaching people error and disobedience. Do you think that Jesus abolished the feasts (feast of Tabernacles) when He died on the cross and would re-enact it again during the Millennial reign? The truth is, the feast of Tabernacles was never cancelled and people will be required to keep it during the Millennial reign. If the Feast of Tabernacles is only for the Jews, as many falsely claim, why would all people be required to keep it during the Millennial reign of Christ?  Don’t be deceived! When the offering plate is passed in worship services, you are willing to put in your tithes and offering; why do you allow the same pastor passing you the plate to tell you not to keep the feasts of the Most High God? Can you see the consequences of not going up to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles during the Millennial reign? There are consequences for not going to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles during the 1000 years reign of Christ! The feast days in the table below are the feast days commanded by God in Leviticus 23 and everything is in line with the commandments of God. Be wise! Be obedient!

Most people say that they are walking in the footsteps of the Apostles, but are they genuinely following the examples of the apostles? They disregard keeping the feast days, thinking that the New Covenant had abolished them.  The New Covenant came into full effect after the death and resurrection of Jesus. If the New Covenant had cancelled the feast days, the disciples would be the first to know, implement, and practice it, isn’t it?   What did the disciples (the Apostles) do? Let us see:

ACTS 2:1-8

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Notice verse 1: when the day of Pentecost fully came, they all gathered in one place. Why were they all gathered? They gathered for the Feast of Weeks (Feast of Pentecost). If the Feast of Weeks was cancelled, they would not have gathered. The Feast of Weeks is also known as the Feast of Pentecost (50 days after the Passover). Take notice of verse 5: And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.  Jews from every country had come to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Weeks (Pentecost).  The disciples gathered for the feast of Weeks, and God decided to use that gathering to pour His Spirit on them. How do we know that they gathered for the Feast of Weeks? Let us see:

DEUTERONOMY 16:16

Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the Lord empty:

In the above verse, the instruction was that they should appear before the Lord three times in a year in the place which He shall choose (Jerusalem): feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. Jews from all over the world (including the apostles) gathered at Jerusalem in line with Deuteronomy 16:16.The disciples gathered for the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), and it wasn’t a special gathering for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  The disciples wouldn’t have gathered if the New Covenant had cancelled the feasts, as falsely claimed and taught by the so-called “Pentecostals”. They gathered for the Feast of Weeks  (Pentecost), and God used the gathering to fulfil the promise of the Holy Ghost.  If the New Covenant has cancelled the feast days, don’t you think the disciples should be the first to know and implement it? The works of Jesus, no books could contain everything He said and did (John 21:25), and the disciples saw everything firsthand. Don’t you think they would be the first to understand that the New Covenant cancels the feasts days and start implementing it—if at all the New Covenant did cancel the feasts? Where are the people saying that they are following the examples of the apostles? Can you see the hypocrisy?  What did Apostle Paul say? Let us see some of his writings:

1 CORINTHIANS 5:6-8

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Apostle Paul is telling people to keep the feast of Passover (Not Easter) and how to keep it. The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread go together. During the feast of Unleavened Bread, one should not eat leavened bread/food nor keep leavened food/leavening agents. What does this symbolise? Leavening represent sin and impurity, and keeping them away symbolises purity—not just physically but holiness in one’s heart. Apostle Paul is not saying a new thing but rather reminding people to keep the feast not with leaven (sin) of malice and wickedness. The Apostles kept the feast days properly and taught people to do so. Where are the so-called “Pentecostals” claiming to be following the examples of the apostles? Where are they?  They are busy celebrating Easter and Christmas and sorts feasts not commanded in the Bible— things the apostles never did.  Jesus kept the Passover and other feasts; the apostles saw everything Jesus taught and did; they followed His examples. Shouldn’t we do the same? Yes, we should proceed with all sincerity.

  • Genuinely no matter if someone doesn’t understand after
that its up to other users that they will help, so
    here it takes place.

  • You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!

  • There’s really one main problem. After researching and comparing calendars as well as actual scriptures. Everyone has the wrong dates. For example Passover Always begins on the exact same day every year. 14th day of the first month. Spring equinox which is in March Abib Nisan. There all the days of God Days of remembrance is off. The Essenes calendar is 100% correct.

Thanks for visiting our page. I have to admit I am no expert regarding the dates. I know there are variations in how these dates are determined. However, I am OK with the variations as long as people are not doing the pagan stuff coming out of Rome. Even if people get the dates wrong, that’s ok (my opinion); I am not too dogmatic about the dates. I accommodate people who observe these on other dates as long as they do not do Easter, Lent, Christmas, or pagan things. No one knows it all; if you have valuable resources to help with the correct estimation of dates, we will welcome that.
      Peace and Blessings!

  • Please note you have forgotten to put the 8th day of Passover; this is a Holy Convocation. This is not a feasting day. This day is also observed as a Sabbath.

  • I recently have had my eyes open to many of these topics. I grew up in church and reading the Bible with very little emphasis on the Old Testament which is the basis for everything in the New Testament. I met a Hebrew who has enlightened me and I want to please God with obeying the instructions he has set forth. Thank you for this web site.

I need assistance. I am wanting to connect with like-minded believers in my community to worship and serve together. Would any of you know where in or around McComb, Mississippi I can find such a church body? Seems most believe in the pre-trib doctrine around me!

Hi, thanks for visiting our site. We don’t have sufficient information on this; sorry for this.

Since this is true Passover week and it was during Passover that Christ was arrested, faced trial, was beaten, crucified, died, and rose again isn’t this when we really should be observing all this as Believers and not with “Easter”. I don’t celebrate pagan holidays anyway. I also don’t believe that Christ was born on Dec. 25th because the shepherds wouldn’t be out in the fields with their sheep number one and it’s another pagan holiday that was incorporated into Catholicism.
